Your personal injury
The amount the Court awards for the fact of your injury depends on the injury itself. There are guidelines for the range of awards for particular types of personal injury. The compensation for total paralysis is set at a range between £188,250 and £235,000. The compensation for amputation of the little finger is set at between £5,100 and £7,215.
We can give you a good idea of the likely range of award the Court would make in your case after an initial conversation with you. In addition to this award you are also entitled to claim for your financial losses.
Your financial losses
We will talk you through the full possible financial consequences of your personal injury both up until now and also into the future. We may need input from medical and other experts to help assess the full extent of your financial losses.
Compensation for financial losses include the cost of:
- Help and assistance you need in any aspect of your life whether that help is provided by your family or friends freely or whether you pay for the help
- Future medical treatment and therapy
- Equipment
- Adaptations required to your house or car or relocation
- Loss of Earnings
- Any other additional expenditure or increased costs.
- Interest. You are entitled to claim interest on expenses you have incurred before the end of your case.
