LLP Conversion
What’s happened?
From 1 October 2011, we have converted our business into a UK limited liability partnership (LLP).
This is a corporate body which is governed by the Limited Liability Partnerships Act 2000. Unlike a partnership it has members rather than partners (the term partner will continue to be used for day-to-day business in line with competitors). Members do not have personal liability for work performed on behalf of the LLP and it is the LLP itself which is liable for any debts of the business.
Why have we converted to an LLP?
The main reason for the change is to enable us to trade with limited liability. Following conversion, members, employees and consultants of the LLP will have no personal liability for work performed on behalf of the LLP.
Will clients be affected?
The existing Boyes Turner partnership will remain responsible for work that we have done for you before 1 October 2011. Boyes Turner LLP (the LLP) will assume responsibility for all work done going forward, whether on existing or new files. All money, documents and data that we hold for you will be transferred to the LLP.
The delivery and quality of the service provided will not change and we will have the same level of professional indemnity cover that was available to the partnership.
Your Boyes Turner contact(s) will remain the same and we will make every effort to make sure that none of these arrangements affects your day-to-day dealings with us. The LLP has new terms of business which are available.
